"Students and teachers" said Mr. Phi Chau, a senior official from Da Nang, Vietnam, "are all too familiar with the impact of disasters."

Mr. Phi Chau, from Da Nang's Department of Education and Training (DOET)gave an opening speech at Ngo Quyen Primary School for a painting contest named "We Paint to Act Against Climate Change" in May last year. The contest was a colorful learning arena where students artfully expressed possible scenarios of and for the future—by sketching and painting consequences of climate change, as well as normative actions and ideas for dealing with natural disasters and climate change.

The activity was part of the Integrative Education for Urban Climate Resilience Project, organized by DOET in collaboration with Da Nang’s Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) and ISET.
