The Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN), initiated by The Rockefeller Foundation in 2008, has brought together city stakeholders to plan, finance, coordinate and implement urban climate change resilience strategies. It has advanced the tremendous body of work that has contributed significantly to establishing the field of urban climate change resilience. ACCCRN has forged partnerships, collaboration and connections amongst organizations and individuals in over 50 cities for over 9 years.

As the ACCCRN initiative is in its final year, the ACCCRN Learning Forum 2016 offers city leaders and planners, climate change practitioners and other partners an opportunity to reflect on best practices and lessons learned, to share accumulated knowledge and to look ahead to new ways for advancing urban resilience.

Under the theme of Sharing Knowledge and Sustaining Partnerships for a More Resilient Urban Future”, the Forum is an opportunity to highlight advancements and successes that have been achieved under ACCCRN. In addition to a combination of interactive full-group sessions and smaller breakouts, participants will have the opportunity to visit one of the ACCCRN projects in Semarang; the city which is now part of 100 Resilient Cities, pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation, to help cities around the world become more resilient to the physical, social and economic challenges.

The design of the forum will enable participants to share innovations in advancing urban resilience, while also looking ahead to future opportunities to connect, collaborate and act. The event will draw in perspectives from core ACCCRN partners and other actors vested in urban resilience, including representatives from the Global Resilience Partnership, 100 Resilient Cities and other important development actors.

This is a chance to bring together many of the ACCCRN grantees and partners who have been on this incredible journey and to connect with new faces.
